Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia.
It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
Project LinkDhammika Peiris is a Producer, Script Writer and Directory, bringing a much needed slice of raw talent to both the Stage and small screen. With the completion of his preliminary education, Peiris, then set out to pursue his lifelong passion in the visual arts by following Diplomas in Mass Media, Communication and Drama from various prestigious institutions in the country.
His first entry in to the world of Sri Lankan stage drama while still being involved in studies received rave reviews and achieved critical recognition from the community. Peiris’ directorial debut into the world of stage drama gained him the “Rana Mayura” Award for best drama of the year 1987/1988 while also managing to clinch the awards for Best Production and Best Screenplay achieving a total of 5 awards that year.
Molded in Stage Drama culture, Peiris contributed his writing skills to the Screen play of “Ayoma” in 1996. This marked the beginning of an illustrious career in Film and Tele drama for him both as a Director and Screen writer.
While all his works are of notable value, there are some that have stood out among all their peers to be the reflection of talent that is Dhammika Peiris.
“Sankranthi Samaya” was crowned the most popular Tele drama of the year 1997 by the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation and it went on to win 7 Sumathi Awards the same year. Mr. Peiris has also been involved with fan favourites such as
Apart from utilizing his talents in creating entertaining and intriguing dramas, Peiris has also been involved with producing and directing programs such as “Sanda Eliyen Dothak”, “Kiri Kodu Hithata” and “Sulang Kapolla”.
Mr. Peiris is currently the programme producer for Telestar Video Company and Video Image Company, while he is also the Programme script writer for Telecine Company.
Apart from his contributions to media, Mr. Peiris is also actively involved in improving the standards of the community through social services. He has supplied his plethora of talents in a multitude of activities, from serving as the Media advisor for the White Lotus Movement, the largest peace movement in Sri Lanka, the programme coordinator for “Ranga Thavalam” and the White Lotus Movement youth camp to serving as an independent drama instructor at the National Youth Services Council.
